new D.I.Y web page

I had great difficulty adding this page to my web site. I had inadvertently used words that the computer picked up as being adult content (ie. I used a word to do with REMOVING wall paper that was picked up as adult content) and untill I removed each of these words then everytime I tried to access this new page, it came up with a message informing me that this page COULD contain adult content and also had a no-entry sign on it. So I worked away at rewording my page until it accepted it for what it is: a D.I.Y. page. I didnt realise the computer could do this. But I am glad that it can and pleased my computer was set in such a way that it allerted me to the posibility of people not being able to access my web page should their computers be configured in a similar way to mine.

This last week I have learnt how to go into my manager and upload my own photos and make them into thumb prints. Also I rememebered what to do to make it so that when you click on the photos it will make it bigger and open in a new window.

new page on floods

I have added two new pages. One on the flooding in Grand Forks, and in the same section one about Cascade Falls, which though not in Grand Forks is only a fifteen minute car journey away. The river Kettle is rising very fast. The snows are melting and causing the river to get higher and flood. The falls at Cascade are worth a visit right now as the river is so fast and so high, making a very impressive sight.
html.. the Bosun page

The last time I wrote I was having difficulties adding to the Bosun page. I thought it might possibly be a spcae problem. And it was. All has been sorted now, thanks to my lovely daughter! The second Bosun page (Bosun May) has been started as well as more TREE pages.

I tried all I could think of to add text. The only way I was able to save on the page was by deleting the links at the bottom of the page. Hence I THINK it is a SPACE problem. It looks like I have run out of space on the Bosun page and need to make him a second page!

Just as I thought I had this html worked out it seems I haven’t! I was adding to Bosun’s page on May 15th but it would not let me save it. It came up with an error message and then Bosun’s page would not load. Most frustrating! I deleted what I had written and it saved! I added more text and there was the error message again! I have looked at the page and it SEEMS to be written correctly, with the begining tag and the ending tag. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am sure my daughter will take a look when she has time and help me out (yet again!!!)

I have added pages about Plants and have started on herbs. So far I have added pages on Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. I have also added pages on Trees and have added Ponderosa pine, Silver Birch, Apple, Cherry and Plum trees. Photographs of the trees will soon be on the site, but I might have to wait for my herbs to grow before getting any photographs that I can add to the site!

Hmmmm!!! Well do I feel silly!!!! Here it is May and I have only JUST discovered that the comments don’t just appear! I have to go in and approve them first! So APOLOGIES to all those who have very kindly left messages of approval of this site. I DO appreciate having your comments. I was beginning to think I was the only one reading my own site!And to the couple of you whose comments I haven’t put on here who feel that life is not offering them much right now, and have “nothing to say,” I implore you to “GO WITHIN” yourself and do some soul searching because if there is anything i have discovered in all my years it is that WE are the ones CREATING our own life. So if you don’t start to go within, you will go without and I know from past experience that does NOT feel good. So start thinking of positive results and create yourself a good life. You deserve it, as do we all.
