Some of you might have noticed this new look to my blog. This is thanks to my lovely daughter Lucy who decided to update the look of it. She has moved it to a different location too, so if you bookmarked this page in the past, you will need to re bookmark it.
Thanks Lucy. I love the look of this new blog.
What do the rest of you think?

We were at Music in the Park last night and again
tonight. We have missed a few this year due to being in the wrong location (ie. in Vancouver instead of Grand Forks!) They usually start on the week of July 1st.
While we were in the park last night we heard that a cuban band would be playing at 8pm tonight so we went along to listen. The band is “Brisas del Palmer” and they were brilliant! They were dressed in black with red shirts. There are five of them altogether and they played a variety of Cuban music, some their own compositions.
They are currently touring in British Columbia and were at Castlegar last night. Some of their locations this coming month will be Kelowna, Christina Lake, Castlegar, Penticton, Vancouver, Trail and Kamloops.
If you are in any of those locations and you hear this group is playing I think they are well worth a visit!
The park this year has suffered storm damage from about a week ago. There are many trees down and a whole area has been cordoned off for the public’s safety. The grass is strewn with branches and leaves and some trees have already been removed, leaving just the stumps as evidence.

Bee (hubby) is now retired. Yesterday we were on the road at 5-30am, he on his motor bike and me in the car with the two dogs. (We made several stops en-route to Grand Forks, (Vancouver to Grand Forks.. over 300 miles )and arrived here by 1-30.
By 2-30 we were in the pool swimming, the first load of washing on the line!
This morning we were in the pool again by 7-30. The pool temperature was 22C and the air temperature 19C! It felt cool gettiing and then again getting back out! However, it was lovely and refreshing!
Bee says so far retirement is good! (he has been retired for two working days!!)

I decided to do a bit of mowing on Thursday. I thought now that we have a lovely new sit-on mower and the old sit-on mower has been serviced and has a new battery that nothing could go wrong! Wrong!!
The old mower woudln’t start… it was as dead as a Dodo and made not even one sound.
The new mower coped with about two minutes of mowing when I suddenly noticed that I had a flat!
Frustrating to say the least!

The water in the pol has been over 20C all this last week. I had my first swim on Thursday when the temperature was over 26C, again on Friday when it was a similar temperature.
This mornign the temperature at 8am was 22C, higher than the air temperature which was about 21C. That woudl ahve been the perfect time for swim in retrospect. However I got my swim in around noon when the air temperature was over 27C and the pool a warm 24C. Lovely!
