New Halti for Bosun

29 July 2007. New Halti

My daughter brings a Halti collar for Bo and we try it out. It is marvellous!
No more tugging on the collar! The halti goes around Bo’s nose and the lead
attaches to the collar and to the Halti. Now if Bo goes where I do not want him
to go, or tugs, or misbehaves in any way, all I have to do is to pull on the lead
and then correct with the Halti. He is a quick learner and soon we are walking
without him pulling in any way, or needing only a quick correction. The Halti
makes walking Bo a real pleasure! Now I can cope with both Jaxx and Bo if I choose
to walk them both at the same time which before was a night mare as Bo would
want to play with Jaxx regardless of the fact that Jaxx might not want that!
I can really recommend Halti collars!

bat in the house

Last night I awoke an hour or so after Bosun had been barking at something. I used the washroom and crept back into the spare bedroom as my husband had moved over into my space and was diagonally in the bed! I wasn’t there long however as I heard something flying over my head and around the room. I switched on the light. There was a big bat flying round.. not at all what I had expected to see. I let out a yell and hastily moved back into our bedroom, closing the bat in the spare bedroom, by which time my husband had woken.
I told him what it was I had been yelling about! He went to look at the bat in the room and quickly closed the door too, thinking we would deal with it in the morning.
That wasn’t to be however as the bat had followed us out and as soon as we settled down he flew round the room, out onto the landing and back again, clearly looking for away out.
We had a brainwave (not bad for two in the morning!) and decided to entice the bat into the other spare room (our “library”), close him in the room but open the window that had no mesh so that he could fly out again.
We did this. The next morning there was no sight of the bat.
Now we are left wondering how the bat got into the house. Our only guess is he came in when we had the outside back door open, settled in the utility room, and then when we went to bed shutting the outside door but leaving the inner door open, he started looking for a way out.
