3 weeks!

I think I have done three weeks of exercise now. It is still a trial to me but at least I get over to the exercise room without too much debating in my head!
I have tried these last two days to move quicker in the hips when doing the hoola hoop. Yesterday seemed to make no difference but there seemed to be a slight improvement today. The hoop stayed up nano-seconds longer! I will keep at it!

I was quicker today cycling the 15 kilometers. I think it might have been because it was cold in the work room … it is afternoon and still minus 12C outside. My drink in the workroom has been solid ice for three days now.
Anyway I cycled 15kms in 25 minutes and burnt up 220 calories.
Then I did my weight lifting on the weight bench. Then my 100 steps.
Then I attempted the hoola hoop again. I try every day but so far the most I can keep the hoop up is five turns. Help! What do I do to keep the hoop up???

Two weeks under my belt!

It is two weeks now since I started ever so slowly to build up my exercise. These last few days I have reached 15 kilometers on the exercise bike and am burning over 200 calories according to the counter on the bike.
I have not yet reached a habit of doing this. I am struggling today to get myself outside and on the bike!!! It is nearly 4pm and about zero outside (warmer than we have had it for days) with snow still laying on the ground.
Apparently it takes 21 days to form a habit. If you want to try to see if this is accurate, then wear your watch on the other arm to what you normally do. Keep at it for the 21 days and by the end of that you will see that it is second nature to put the watch on the “other arm”. I have tried this and it worked for me.
After saying all this about forming a habit, I think I had best keep at this exercise lark for another week to see if the habit is formed!

Updated Family Trees!

I have been researching our ancesters for several years now and the trees are growing. Then I suddenly realised that I have been adding to the trees BUT I hadn’t updated the information for about a year! So yesterday I set about rectifying that and updated the Berry/Haylett Family Tree. Today I updated the Lewis Family Tree.

Better late than never!

I am pleased! I managed to do thirty minutes of cycling this morning.. it was hard going but not quite as hard as yesterday. I notice I am slower and because of that I am not using up as many calories but at least I am managing to do it! So I am pleased with myself! 15 kms today on the bike, a few arm exercises on the weight bench, 100 steps on the stepping machine and a few goes with the hoola hoop! All in all a good morning for me!

Hard going!

It was hard going today! Really hard going! I did not think I would mange to get five kilometers cycled today. But I kept at it. I was slower, my legs ached but I kept going. I managed to get my 13 kms done but in longer time and with less calories used up (according to the gismo on the bike that keeps count of time, speed, calories, distance etc). In the end I cycled 14 kms so I do feel pleased that I managed it.
I was expecting each day to get easier but for some reason it doesn’t work that way! I haveyet to do my step and my hoola hooping today. After cycling 14 kms I could do no more! Maybe later today i will fit the 100 steps in!

second week of exercise!

I am feeling pleased with myself. I have cycled and exercised everyday for over a week now. Yesterday I cycled 12 kilometers.
Today I cycled 13.13 kms in 23 mins and used up 200 calories!
The hoop is stilll extremely difficult to keep up. I can manage no more than 4 cycles of the hoop before it falls to the ground… better than last week though!
I am still using the step machine everyday but do not always manage 100 steps. I am feelign good about myself today as I DID manage 100!
I have not weighed myself nor measured myself since starting this exercise. However I am FEELING better about my body.. not so sluggish.

resolution to exercise

It is two days later and I am pleased to report that I am still managing to stick to the exercise plan.
Saturday I cycled ten kilometers and today I managed 11 !!
I am pleased that I have manged to increase this daily. Not only that but I seem to be cycling faster too! GREAT!!
The step programme is not doing so good…I have not managed over 100 steps yet.
The hoola hoop continues to frustrate me. I still can manage no more than a few seconds with the hoop in the air.

Exercising!

One of my new year resolutions was to do some exercise.. I would say to do “more” exercise but that would mean I was already doing some!!
We just recently moved the exercise equipment we had in our basement (just a store room for my bottling stuff, and a place we tend to put stuff we don’t know where else to put, plus the water heater is there and the crawl spaces under the house which are needed when we have electrians plumbers etc in to work!)
Anyway the equipment… a bicycle, step machine, weight bench, skipping rope, hoola hoop and weights… got moved to a little room that is behind our greenhouse that you get to through a room that houses rabbit hutches ..empty ever since we have lived here!
So back to my resolution. To exercise!
I now go to the room every day..usually first thing in the morning and exercise.
I started off by doing just a few steps and a little cycle ride and that was enough for the day! Gradually I have done more everyday and this week I have been pretty good!
Monday this week I cycled five Kms and did 100 steps.
Tuesday I cycled 6 kms and did 30 steps. ( visitors arrived so I didn’t finish!..good excuse!)
Wednesday I cylced 7 kms and did 50 steps before I had had enough.
Today I cycled 8 kms and did 100 steps.

I haven’t used the weight bench but I have tried to hoola hoop with no success at all. I am not sure how I used to do it as a little child! The silly hoop just won’t stay up!!

I am feeling a bit better for it. The weight and body seem much as before for size but I am hoping that a few inches might just fall away!!
